Will we become successful by speaking in front of the mirror every day?

To summarise, it is about Self-Image & Self-conceptualisation.

Since the birth of a child, the child learns to see itself in Other’s Context.

The concepts about self are built on references given by family members about who we are and what is intended by us as behaviours and habits.

The concept is expanded by schools, teachers and moral guides from society. Even Media and Digital Media contributes in Self-image creation. Eventually we have OUR Image that is created by the agencies of socialization.

As we grow and start becoming aware about self, we get CONFLICTING ideas of how world intends us to be and what we actually are!

Because of this Distorted Self-image we start getting self-doubt and we learn to live a life where Others first & Self last’ is a rule.

So when time comes where we are exposed to taking decisions in life, perform, be productive, we obviously have a great Doubt on ourselves… we are still operating on Other’s model of world.

This conflict gets broader with age leading to low self-esteem and confidence; this becomes a reason for anxiety and depression with growing age.

Hence, there comes a time we need to create Concept of self and lead our life rather than being dependant on other’s Approvals.

Here either a person becomes rebellious or succumbs in self-doubt and self-hate.

To reverse this equation we need to get into self-actualisation which is like re-writing the program for self-worth, self-esteem and self-confidence.

Here comes the role of Positive self-talk, based on awareness of one’s own abilities and skills. Hence, talking in front of Mirror comes to help.

The concept is well explained in Louise Hay’s book ‘Mirror Work’.

To summarise, this used wisely, becomes the best method to get better at self-image.

Hence, a positive Mirror Talk, helps clears self-concept when used with Visualisation and Behaviour modifications in line with statements used for self-empowerment.

That’s all I could summarise here…

I hope this helps!

Thank you.
